I graduated from the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy as an osteopathic manual practitioner in 2016 and currently have a private practice in downtown Toronto. I am a member of the Ontario Federation of Osteopathic Professionals (DOMP) and a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (RMT). As an osteopathic manual practitioner, registered massage therapist, shiatsu therapist and instructor at the Shiatsu School of Canada ( now the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine Academy - AIM academy) my practice reflects over 25 years of practice in these combined disciplines.
Manual osteopathy and massage are beneficial for people of all ages. I have a special interest in clients with chronic pain, headaches, migraines anxiety and depression and pre/post natal health. As a former professional dancer who continues to be involved in movement disciplines (yoga, pilates, and meditation) I provide movement strategies to more effectively support treatment and recovery. My experience and vast array of techniques will suit the unique needs of individuals whether it is a particular injury or condition, chronic pain or stresses of work and daily life.
I have an ongoing interest in new research in neuroscience and pain. Recent findings show that the experience of pain is a result of complex interactions in the brain and nervous system that involve the biological, social and psychological aspects of a person know as the biopsychosocial model of pain. This understanding mirrors my past training in shiatsu therapy which views the interconnections between the body and mind from an Eastern perspective. I aim to work with clients to alleviate symptoms with manual therapy and movement education.
